Promising 2013

Wow! It's been a long time since I posted something on my blog. Once the semester was over, this girl had to chill for a minute. All I wanted to do was nothing, just chill read a book head to starbucks and that was it. Well even though this is a blog about fitness and trying to be healthy, I haven't gained any weight, phew!! I haven't worked out as much as I would like, due to school and work, and the loss of motivation. I mean I went maybe once or twice a week. This year I promised myself to get that motivation back. I have come to far to give up now, and I'm going to do my best to get back on it!! One thing that I have enjoyed about my weight loss or I should say, "rewarding" is the CLOTHES. I love forever 21 and H&M, but when I was at my heaviest, for the life of me I could not fit into the clothes. Now that I'm more healthier and 30 pounds less things look a little better in the fitting rooms. Thank you, Jesus. I thank God for 2012 because that was  when I started to eat right and work out, my promise is to be much better for 2013 and reach my goals that I have set for myself. Here are some of my best fashion photos of me on instagram...

I have not been on here for a good minute. Im very truly sorry, with the summer coming to an end, and a last minute vacation. I have been super busy, and no time to just chill. Let me go ahead and tell you what's been going on with me. I took a week vacation to El salvador, it was amazing I will post a few photos soon.
Classes started after that, and I made the biggest mistake in signing up for 5 week classes. That however, was something that I call pure carelessness, I saw the class that I needed and just registered didn't even bother to look if the classes where regular term. Yikes, talk about homework being due every week. Im happy too report that those classes are finally over and I scored two B's woo hoo! Then the craziest thing happened, my twin sister got ENGAGED!! whoa! Not only that she asked if I could be her maid of honor.  It has been craay craay, at our house. Planning a bridal shower is pretty intense from picking flowers, food, games, cake, and dress. Not only that but also wedding planning. Its is been a bittersweet time, these next few months are going to go by fast. I will post photos as the time rolls around.
Now, I have not gained no weight, (hallelujah) but I have not been working out... Im the first one to say there is no excuse to working out,  I have been doing a ton of homework, reading, and catching a few zzZZZzzzzZZ when I could. Yesterday, I made the first attempt to jog and I did okay. Im sore on my legs, but its a wonderful feeling. Im still on a low- carb diet. Again, this is a lifestyle so Im taking this one day at a time. Here is a few photos of what I had for lunch today. Breakfast was just 2 eggs with 2 strips of bacon.

Unexpected Worship... and Beach Day Weekend

Good Afternoon,

Monday just came and went already, wow!  I actually had a restful weekend I caught up on some reading and took several naps, throughout the weekend.
On Friday, I got invited to Unique Week, its was a week event where youth sorta came out of there comfort zone, and did things in the community, whether it was to paint over some graffiti, mission work etc. Well on the last day I got invited for the service event at first I did not want to go, I had just got out of work but I told myself "stop being lazy and go", so I went and I had an amazing time. I felt the Holy Spirit speak to me, and the pastor spoke out of:

Matthew 6:25-30

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?

I know we have all read this verse, but the pastor was talking about what is stopping us from pursuing God. Even though we are not perfect God see value in us. We pursue other things, while God is constantly pursuing us. He mentions something so beautiful that I want to do from now on, and this is pursue God, God pursues what he values, how come we can't do the same. Sometimes, we don't pursue God, because maybe it could be a trust "thing", and the pastor told us to take a moment and to think what are the things that we are trying to pursue right now, when he said that the first things that came in to mind was marriage, success, and my weight-loss. After I figured out that these things were my main pursuit, I decided that what if put all of that energy and pursue my God? I know its easier said than done, But I challenge us to do this!
The worship was awesome, Sweet 180 was a cool band, if you want more information please go to there facebook page here and check them out.
Saturday was a mellow day I had a healthy breakfast caught up some reading which led to a nap, then visited my brother at his new house.
The Lord really takes care us when we put all of our trust in him, his house is beautiful.
Sunday, after service me and a friend from church took a surprise trip to the beach. After the rain the sun came out and we enjoyed the beach for a few hours.

A little more about me!

Happy Friday,

I happened to look outside of boss's office, and wow it looks like its night time. I pray that everyone who lives in Houston is safe. I don't know how long we are going to have this weather, but the rain is very much appreciated.
One of my favorite reads is Jenni at  SOML I loved one of her post, I felt like I really got know her as a person. So I had to copy and do this as well.

If you really knew me…

+ You’d know I try to seek God day by day

+ You’d know I love the beach, but will NOT swim in the water. I just love the scene of the ocean, and the sand between my toes.

+ You’d know I prefer sunny days over cold days

+ You’d know I dislike cats, but I’m a huge dog lover

+ You’d know I have a twin sister, who looks nothing like me

+ You’d know I would rather eat something sweet than anything salty.

+ You’d know coffee is my weakness.

+ You’d know my obsession with the Amish folk. I love reading about there lives. Plus two of my favorite authors have several love fiction Amish stories, which sparked my curiosity

+ You’d know my favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11

+ You’d know I try to be organized, but fail miserably

+ You’d know I love being in the legal field. I love the aspect of the law, from deadlines, to court appearances, legal documents. My favorite movie is the Lincoln Lawyer. I have read the whole Lincoln Lawyer Series, it was amazing.

+ You’d know I pray for my husband, whom I have never met, but I will God willing.

+ You’d know I’m a picky eater, and I don’t like certain restaurants.

+ You’d know I’m not a confrontational  person, I will more likely leave and go cry some where alone, until I feel better. :)

Salad and Soup Day!

Good Afternoon,

Houston weather has not been the prettiest, due to the rain and thick clouds. Last year we had a severe drought. Regardless, I'm thankful for the rain.
Our family lives on a ranch, and it does bring a lot peace with the rain falling on the ground the only problem with that, is trying to get up and get ready to leave. :)
Well, I don't know if I'm the only person that wants to eat pasta, and pastries in this weather, I don't know why I crave carbs when its gloomy outside, but I do.
I did bring my lunch, but opted on going down stairs to the deli to see what they had to eat. I some how forget that I'm not the only person who stays in doors when it rains, because when I went to the deli the ladies were almost out of food.
I decided to get a salad, and a small tomato basil soup, I wanted something to go with the goodies I got from home. Within minutes I mixed my goodies from home with the salad, and I had a great lunch. By goodies I only brought an avocado and some turkey from home. It made the salad taste so much better, I don't know why but when you add an avocado to anything its 10X better.

My attempt on trying to do my nails please excuse the roughness.

What I read in the book of Romans!

Good Afternoon,

Yikes, it's almost time to head home if you are on CST. I recently bought a new camera, well I have had it for some time now but I'm learning new things as I go. I did not post anything yesterday, due to two cavities and I had to get them filled by my trusty dentist whom I love, but I would rather not see him, if that makes sense. After my appointment, me and mom headed out to my dad's job and had lunch, I couldn't eat much but I decided to whip out my camera and take a few shots, "Practice makes Perfect". I have always admired photography, and how some photographers make it look so effortlessly, which am sure to some it is, while others take there time on getting that best shot. Afterwords I needed to rest my head which came out to be a four hour nap. WOW! I know, well the other night I was studying the book of Romans and I know I have heard this verse plenty of times by my pastor, or my mom or dad say it to me. When I personally opened up my bible and read Romans Ch 3, I read this passage:
verse 23- for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
verse 24- and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Having read this I had an awe moment, because I have seen and have heard this plenty of times, but when I was reading this lovely verse it was like I was reading this for the very first time. I even shared with a friend of mine. That we all fall short of his glory, but that we are justified by his grace, is something that is so surreal.
Breakfast: Coffee, (too nervous to eat), Lunch: soft cooked meat with an avocado, Dinner: small bowl of beans.

Nieces, and veggie carb less soup!

Good Afternoon,

I love how a lot of my favorite blogs have there updates in the morning. I get my dose of daily reads and inspiration in the morning. Yet its almost 5pm and I'm barley updating mine.
I had a wonderful weekend on saturday I started my day with cooking. I made my famous veggie soup, this soup has helped me drop a lot of my weight when I started my journey. I stole it from a friend of mine the only difference between her soup and my soup is that she has hers in a crock-pot simmering away, while I cook mine up real quick. The only ingredients the recipe calls for is: ground beef/turkey, 2 cans of mixed veggies no salt, a can of green beans, can of diced tomatoes, and a can of tomato sauce. You cook up the meat and season it, once that is done you add all of the canned goods and add water and season it the way you like it and boom... veggie soup with no carbs. I'm telling you, I can eat this soup every day, and I'm a college girl with a budget so I literally spend 10 bucks or less and I have soup for a few days.
Besides the soup that I made on saturday, I made a cabbage salad it was not so healthy because the recipe called for mayo, but again I'm on a low- carb diet so it was something that I can turn my face to the side and not look at it as completely unhealthy.
Sunday, was filled with a lot little babies my precious nieces. One of my nieces was presented on Sunday, and her older sister was there and I had to take a picture with her, before she ran off to be with her friends.
A few posts back, I talked about one of my other nieces who was born with a minor defect and she was going to have surgery, well to God be the glory she is doing much after her surgery, you cant even tell she had anything done. Tia loves you baby girl.
